MACOMB TWP. – No surprises here.

As expected, Romeo ran away with the team titles at the Macomb Area Conference Red Division cross country championships Wednesday afternoon.

Three weeks after sweeping the meets at the first MAC Red jamboree, the Bulldogs put the finishing touches on a pair of league championships at Macomb Dakota.

Romeo’s girls team, ranked second in the state in Division 1, collected just 31 points to easily outdistance itself from runner-up Utica’s 54 points. Macomb Dakota was third (79), while Utica Eisenhower (103), Fraser (124), St. Clair (130), Anchor Bay (174) and Grosse Pointe North (238) followed suit in the team standings.

Romeo took four of the top five slots inside the top 15 while all five of the Bulldogs’ point scorers finished in the top 20.
