A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 24, at Alaska Auto Wrecking, located at milepost 102 of the Sterling Highway across from TJ Seggy’s. Central Emergency Services (CES) responded quickly to the scene.
“We got called out to a structure fire in a large commercial shop at about 3:12 PM. We arrived at a well-involved fire with the roof having already failed on the shop. We set up defensive operations, got knocked down with a deck gun off of engine one, and then slowly transitioned to interior attack,” CES Deputy Chief Dan Grimes.
