The Liberal candidate for the once blue-ribbon seat of Bradfield, Gisele Kapterian, has conceded defeat after announcing in mid-July she would be launching a legal case to challenge her slim loss to Teal independent Nicolette Boele.
Although Ms Kapterian was ahead on election night, Ms Boele who also contested the seat in 2022, officially won the seat by a narrow 26 votes in early June after a recount was conducted for the ultra-tight electorate.
The nation’s most marginal seat was previously called for each candidate at different points during the first count, with initial counting putting Ms Kapterian on 56,191 votes to Ms Boele’s 56,183.
