External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) foreign ministers on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly.
Jaishankar highlighted India’s commitment to a people-first approach, focusing on healthcare, technology, capacity building, and training.
“Delighted to host the FIPIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting today in New York. Glad to note that the 12-point action plan announced by PM Modi at the FIPIC-III Summit is progressing well,” Jaishankar posted on X.
The FIPIC framework, launched in 2014, strengthens India’s development partnership with Pacific Island nations. The 12-point plan announced in 2023 covers cooperation in renewable energy, healthcare, cyber-security, and skill development. Tags: Jai
