Carquinez Strait and Delta, Southern Sacramento Valley, Northern San Joaquin Valley and Motherlode are under a weather alert for strong thunderstorms by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 12:27 a.m. The alert is in effect until 1:15 a.m.
The storms are anticipated to bring pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) and wind gusts of up to 30 mph.
“At 12:25 a.m., Doppler radar tracked a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Stockton to Angels Camp. Movement was northwest at 35 mph,” says the NWS Sacramento CA. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.”
