Gary Neville has been forced to relive one of Manchester United's darkest days having lost a bet with a colleague.

The Red Devils legend was in the stands at Old Trafford in October 2021 to watch bitter rivals Liverpool romp to a 5-0 win .

Jurgen Klopp 's side went into the break leading 4-0 thanks to goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota, before Mohamed Salah helped himself to a double.

And the Egyptian winger completed his hat-trick just five minutes into the second half - becoming the first Liverpool player since Fred Howe in 1936 to bang in a treble at the Theatre of Dreams.

He was also the first opposing player to score a hat-trick at Old Trafford since Ronaldo's heroics for Real Madrid in the Champions League in April 2003.
