Borussia Dortmund boss Niko Kovac has lifted the lid on Jobe Bellingham’s lack of game time since his arrival at the club.

The 19-year-old emulated brother Jude in moving to the Bundesliga giants this summer for an initial £26.9million deal.

Jobe played a pivotal role in Sunderland 's promotion to the Premier League last season but an offer from Dortmund saw him turn down the opportunity to try his hand in England's top flight.

The midfielder has featured in all six of Dortmund’s matches this season but has so far struggled to cement himself as a regular in the starting XI.

The former Birmingham City academy graduate has started just twice under Kovac, his last coming in the 3-0 win over Union Berlin on August 31.
