A 28-year-old Kapolei man is facing a federal criminal charge after police in Sweden allegedly caught him online claiming to be a child rapist and sending child pornography to an underage girl.

Victor Miguel Calderon, 28, is facing a single federal felony charge of possession of child pornography. Calderon is scheduled for a detention hearing today.

He made his initial appearance Monday before Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Kenneth J. Mansfield. Federal prosecutors filed a motion to detain Calderon without bail until trial.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sara D. Ayabe is prosecuting the case. Calderon is represented by the office of the Federal Public Defender.
