Bishnupada Grahacharya, retired Consolidation Officer of Kujanga, Jagatsinghpur district, was convicted today by the Special Judge, Special Court, Cuttack in a case filed by Odisha Vigilance under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The case, registered under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) of the PC Act, pertained to the possession of disproportionate assets (DA) beyond known sources of income. Following a detailed investigation and trial, Grahacharya was sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment and fined ₹50,000.

Odisha Vigilance has announced that it will now approach the competent authority to initiate pension stoppage proceedings against the convicted officer, in accordance with service rules and post-conviction protocols.
