RCMP in Harbour Grace confirm they have received reports expressing concern about the welfare of dogs at a home in the town, and are monitoring the situation.

The RCMP say officers have gone to the property on several occasions to view the condition of the animals, and none of those visits generated evidence to support removal under the province’s Animal Health and Protection Act.

Heidi Hiscock of Rescue NL told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly they’re very concerned for the animals, which used to be outdoors, but are now inside and no longer visible.

She’s calling on the public to stress how important it is for people to “put pressure on the mayor, and the RCMP in Harbour Grace to get this property investigated.”
