Well folks, as we look at the forecast for the Rockford area and surrounding parts of Northeast Illinois, we're seeing a generally pleasant weather pattern setting up, but with a few nuances we'll be monitoring closely. We've got some lake effect showers impacting areas to our north and east this morning, particularly near the Indiana shoreline, which are expected to become more focused there late morning into the early afternoon. For us, however, conditions are looking drier.
As we move from today into the weekend, we're anticipating a nice warm-up. Temperatures will be inching back into the 80s, with highs potentially reaching the mid-to-upper 80s by Monday and Tuesday, which is pretty typical for this time of year. It's not looking like abnormally hot weather, but a comfortable return
