Bhatkal: In response to repeated incidents of hundi thefts in temples, the Bhatkal Rural Police have launched an initiative to ensure CCTV cameras are installed in every temple within their jurisdiction.

A meeting was convened at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station premises, attended by committee members of several temples, including Soodigadde, Durga Parameshwari, Kanchina Durga Parameshwari, and Shedabari temples.

Speaking at the meeting, CPI Manjunath Lingareddy stressed that the absence of CCTV surveillance was hampering the detection of theft and robbery cases. “Installing CCTV cameras in temples will strengthen security and play a crucial role in preventing hundi thefts,” he said.
