Wipro founder Azim Premji has turned down Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s request to open the internal road within Wipro’s Sarjapur campus in Bengaluru for public traffic.

The proposal, aimed at easing traffic congestion near Outer Ring Road at Ibblur Junction, was sent by the CM on September 19.

In his response, Premji highlighted the following points:

The traffic congestion on Outer Ring Road is serious, but there is no immediate solution.

Global experts should be consulted to identify appropriate long-term solutions.

Wipro is willing to cooperate in research and bear a major portion of the costs.

Opening the Sarjapur campus to public traffic is not feasible due to legal, administrative, and security concerns.
