ASHLAND, Ohio — A 25-year-old man was arrested early Thursday after a shooting outside a bar in Ashland left another man wounded, police said.

According to the Ashland Police Department , officers responded to the Wagon Wheel on Orange Road just before 1:30 a.m., where they arrested David Struckoff of Nova at the scene. He is being held in the Ashland County Jail on a charge of felonious assault, pending review by the county prosecutor’s office.

Police said the victim, an Ashland resident, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was taken by ambulance to Ohio Health in Mansfield, where he underwent surgery and is recovering.

A handgun was recovered during the investigation.

Police said there are no ongoing safety concerns for the community. The case remains under investigation.
