CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A Cedar Rapids woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.

Rose Lee Beranek, 43, admitted to obtaining nearly two pounds of methamphetamine in Arizona in February 2024. Authorities stopped her in Oklahoma while she was en route to distribute the drugs in Cedar Rapids, finding the meth in vacuum-sealed bags.

Assistant United States Attorney Devra T. Hake prosecuted the case, with investigations conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Cedar Rapids Police Department, the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Oklahoma District One Narcotics Task Force.

Beranek faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, with a maximum potential sentence of life imprisonment, a $10 million fine, and a lifetime
