Newfoundland and Labrador is inching toward a population of 550,000 according to Statistics Canada.

The number of people who call this province home increased by about 700 to 549,456 during the second quarter ending July 31st. Our population has increased by about 3,000 since this time last year.

Canada’s population increased but the rate of growth in the second quarter was the slowest of any quarter ever, COVID months notwithstanding.
