WICKENBURG, Ariz. — A small aircraft with two people aboard crashed early Thursday morning south of the Wickenburg Municipal Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration is launching an investigation into a crash involving an Alpha Trainer plane that occurred at about 6:45 a.m. on Sept. 25. Sky12 footage shows the aircraft was sitting upside down in an empty plot of desert land.
The aircraft reportedly experienced an engine malfunction, requiring the pilot to make an emergency landing.
The occupants of the aircraft are reportedly safe and sustained only minor injuries, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. Officials are in the process of investigating how the aircraft crashed.
