Since 1967, Bay View Campground has been a home-away-from-home for thousands of seasonal Bourne residents, who come to enjoy the campground’s amenities and the many beaches and local attractions Cape Cod has to offer. Following the 2026 season, though, the campground will be closing indefinitely, per an abrupt announcement made to staff and the public on September 20. This announcement comes in the wake of a recently signed administrative consent order (ACO) that the campground’s owners signed with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), which ordered Bay View to clean up its dysfunctional wastewater system.
