Protest held outside WTNH station as parent company continues to preempt 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A protest is taking place outside our News 8 studio on Elm Street in New Haven on Thursday.

People gathering to oppose the decision by our parent company, Nexstar Media Group, to keep "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" off the air.

The Connecticut Citizen Action Group organized the protest along with community members, free speech advocates and democracy defenders.

They are making their voices heard in defense of free speech following Disney's decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel after his comments about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Kimmel returned to some ABC stations on Tuesday, except those owned by Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcasting.
