More charges filed against ex-substitute teacher as another victim comes forward

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. — Charges continue to stack up against a former Martinsville substitute teacher accused of sex crimes against children.

In May, prosecutors leveled an additional dozen charges against Brittany Fortinberry, bringing her total number of criminal charges to 41. But the mountain of felony charges didn't stop there.

Court documents reveal that another underage victim came forward in September, prompting even more charges to be filed against Fortinberry, including: • Three sexual misconduct with a minor charges, each a Level 4 felony • One charge of dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a Level 5 felony • Two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Her total now stands at 47 criminal counts.
