EDGAR – In what has been an unorthodox year for Jerry Sinz and Edgar in 2025 – navigating multiple schedule changes – the unbeaten Wildcats are building their campaign toward a third consecutive WIAA state title on experience and defensive excellence.

In back-to-back weeks, the reigning Division 7 champions have been forced to overcome unforeseen obstacles.

When Rosholt forfeited their week four matchup against the Wildcats, Edgar went into a 48-minute battle with Marquette Academy that resulted in Edgar junior kicker Anthony Trawecki cashing in a short-yardage field goal to win as time expired.

That was a game that saw the Wildcats give up their first big play of the season, when Marquette fooled the Wildcats for a 75-yard touchdown.
