ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Spencerport Central School District has made an error in its authorization process and accuracy calculations of separation and unused leave payments.

An audit released by the New York State Comptroller reveals that the district accidentally overpaid and underpaid some employees. Some outgoing employees of SCSD can receive separation payments, partly as a retirement incentive, and also receive a payment for unused leave time.

The audit, which reviewed payments from July 1 through May 16, 2025, found district officials were not always correctly authorizing and calculating those leave payments, often lacking adequate independent review.
