ALEDO, Ill. (KWQC) - The Mercer County Schools superintendent and two district employees, accused of illegally accessing student medical records, are set to make their first appearance Thursday.
The two district employees, Amberly Norton, 41, and Andrea Long, 41, and Superintendent Timothy Farquer, 53, are each charged with:
Unauthorized access to medical records, a misdemeanor
Computer tampering, a misdemeanor
Felony official misconduct
On Wednesday Aledo police said they were investigating a complaint that Mercer County School District employees were illegally accessing students’ medical records.
Police searched Mercer County High School in Aledo and the district office in Joy and took electronics, officials said.
