Spooky season is just about here, which means it’s time to stock up on pumpkins, candy and costumes for Halloween.
This year, Halloween spending is expected to reach a record $13.1 billion, surpassing the previous record of $12.2 billion in 2023, according to a survey from the National Retail Federation . Nearly three-quarters (73%) of consumers plan to celebrate the haunted holiday, with more than half (51%) saying they plan to dress up in a costume.
Consumers are expected to spend about $4.26 billion on Halloween costumes alone in 2025, including $2 billion on costumes for adults, $1.4 billion for children and $860 million for pets, according to NRF.
