CLEVELAND, Ohio — Northeast Ohio will contend with some lingering showers and gloomy conditions Thursday before skies clear and temperatures climb heading into the weekend.

Rain will mostly be confined to areas south and east of Cleveland, mainly along a line from Wooster to Ashtabula eastward, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service. Rainfall totals will generally range from a tenth to a half-inch.

Conditions should improve by evening, with the Cleveland Guardians forecast to wrap up a series with the Detroit Tigers under mostly dry skies at Progressive Field.

High temperatures Thursday will be in the low to mid 70s, with overnight lows dipping into the mid 50s. Patchy fog will be possible overnight as the ground remains damp.
