MENTOR, Ohio — The city of Mentor is partnering with the Lake County Council on Aging to test a new program aimed at helping older homeowners clear their driveways this winter.
The pilot effort, called Operation Snow Lift, will provide three free driveway snow-removal vouchers per household for the 2025-2026 winter season.
It is designed for Mentor residents age 62 and older who meet income guidelines and may struggle to afford snowplowing services.
Voucher distribution is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Oct. 2 at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Ave. Vouchers will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, and only a limited number are available.
