ALAMO, Tenn. (WMC) - A Tennessee man is behind bars after he allegedly broke into the home of a person who had recently died, twice.
“This incident not only adds to the pain of a grieving family but also highlights a disturbing act of shamelessness and boldness by the suspect,” the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Cody E. Sharp, 34, was booked into the Crockett County Jail on Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office reports that the first burglary occurred on Monday when Sharp unlawfully entered the home in an attempt to steal. The homeowner’s surviving family members installed hidden security cameras inside the house as a result.
CCSD says the thief returned Tuesday night. Investigators credit the hidden cameras for enabling law enforcement to identify Sharp as the suspect
