The 2026 MLB season will reportedly begin away from cable.
Netflix will exclusively stream next year’s Opening Day game between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants, according to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand . It’s part of a three-year deal between Netflix and MLB.
In addition, Netflix will reportedly stream the Home Run Derby and share the rights to special events such as the “Field of Dreams” game, MLB Speedway Classic and Rickwood Field game with NBC/Peacock.
The Yankees and Giants is the only game on Wednesday, March 25. All other teams will begin their season the following day, with the Boston Red Sox starting their 2026 campaign against the Cincinnati Reds.
