WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Warwick Mayor Frank Picozzi announced he'll be getting knee replacement surgery next week, which will require him to work from home for a while.
The mayor shared on Facebook Thursday that he suffers from osteoarthritis in his knees caused by "more than 40 years of working construction."
Picozzi, 66, said the surgery will be done on one leg and he'll be out of the office for "at least three weeks."
"Fortunately, I have a talented and hardworking staff and directors that I can depend on," Picozzi wrote in the post. "I'll have both of my phones and my computer. I'll be Mayor from my house for a while. I will keep in touch with you."
