SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - The Spokane Valley City Council is set to review a proposal for a new regional ice rink and recreation facility, which would be entirely funded by a local benefactor.

The Innovia Foundation, representing the unnamed benefactor, presented the proposal at the council meeting on September 23.

The proposed facility would be 65,000 square feet and feature NHL-sized dual ice sheets. The total facility value is estimated at $44 million.

“The proposed facility will broaden access to ice sports while also offering inclusive programming designed to equip young people with mentorship, life skills and confidence that extend well beyond the rink and into their schools, careers and civic lives,” Innovia CEO Shelly O'Quinn said in a press release.
