A small grass fire is affecting traffic in North Hollywood Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported just before 3:45 p.m. adjacent to the 170 Freeway near Chandler Boulevard and the North Hollywood Recreation Center, the Los Angeles Fire Department said in an alert.

It was extinguished in 23 minutes with no injuries reported, though firefighters will remain there for another 90 minutes to mop up.

Traffic will be somewhat slowed by the LAFD's efforts, officials said.

"There are no structures threatened however drivers should take caution due to smoke in the area while crews work towards extinguishment and mop up remaining hot spots," the alert explained.
