NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Nashville mother is still searching for answers and accountability after a whiskey tour bus sideswiped her car in July, disrupting what was supposed to be a rare family outing with her young son, who is undergoing cancer treatment.
Ashleigh Higgins said she doesn’t visit downtown Nashville often, but on that day in July, she and her seven-year-old son, Santana — who is diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma — were hoping for a brief escape from their daily struggles with a visit to a local candy shop.
“We were trying to enjoy a family day,” Higgins said. “He’s had to get numerous surgeries. He almost died on us a couple of times, so he had just been going through a hard week mentally.”
