ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - As September winds down, communities are reflecting on Suicide Prevention Month. It’s a reminder that this is a conversation that should be continue every single day.
“It’s been with me for 16 years,” Angie Brown said as she clutches a photo of her late son.
It’s a memory that will last forever.
“This is Adonte,” Angie said. “Everywhere I take him, he’s with me. He is on my work badge, my church clothes, my play clothes.”
Angie lost her son to suicide in 2009. The shock and the questions followed.
“That’s not something I saw. We didn’t see any of the signs or symptoms,’ she said.
But in the years after her loss, faith and community helped rebuild a purpose.
“I had been praying to meet something or someone to help me,” she said.
