DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey was at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Thursday, pushing state lawmakers to approve a bill to upgrade public college campuses.

UMass Dartmouth is one of 29 public higher education campuses in Massachusetts that stand to benefit from the Act to Build Resilient Infrastructure to Generate Higher Education Transformation, also known as the BRIGHT Act.

Healey toured the construction site at the school's Liberal Arts (LARTS) building, which houses the College of Arts and Sciences. The project is reportedly an example of the type of construction the BRIGHT Act could support.
