ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Three people were taken to the hospital Thursday following a serious two-car crash in Attleboro.

First responders were called to Read Street at West Street around 5:15 p.m. and found both vehicles heavily damaged. Firefighters used rescue tools to free one person who was trapped inside the car.

A man in his 20s was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries, while a 17-year-old and a 55-year-old woman were taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

The road was shut down for about 45 minutes, according to officials. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
