ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A pilot program in the Pittsford Central School District is teaching life-saving measures to student athletes through a partnership with Rochester Regional Health.

At Pittsford Sutherland High School, 14 students have learned CPR, first aid, and how to use a defibrillator as part of the program aimed at increasing safety among student athletes.

"Anybody can learn to help save a life even if they're not engaged with chest compressions or using the AED. It might just be going to get the AED or calling 911," said Patrick Irving, Pittsford Schools Director of Athletics.
