SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff's Office reported that a man led deputies on a high-speed chase on September 13 before crashing and being arrested.
The incident unfolded around 11:40 p.m. when a Spokane Valley Traffic Unit Deputy observed a white Dodge pickup making an erratic turn from North Sullivan Road onto Mission Avenue. The driver, later identified as 38-year-old Monte L. Marchand, crossed multiple traffic lanes and nearly hit a curb.
Marchand passed the deputy's marked patrol car at 58 miles per hour in a 35 zone, prompting the deputy to initiate a traffic stop with lights and sirens activated.
