BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. — Blythewood town council has voted against a rezoning request that would have allowed a new U-Haul storage facility on Community Drive.
The proposed facility, located near I-77 and Blythewood Road, would have been built on the 800 block of Community Drive.
Steeve Sheekey, a representative for U-Haul, presented the company’s plan to rezone part of the land for storage warehouses. The company wanted to place the facility on the southern portion of the property to increase visibility from the interstate and reduce visibility from Blythewood Road and the Cobblestone community.
“We are putting the facility at the south side of the property so we can increase our visibility from the interstate and to decrease our visibility from Blythewood Road and the Cobblestone community,
