IRMO, S.C. — Irmo town leaders are hoping to bring major changes to a popular community playground.

At a special meeting, the town council approved a resolution to apply for the Municipal Association of South Carolina ’s Big Idea Grant. The grant is worth $100,000 and requires a minimum $5,000 match from the town.

“Mayor, members of council, thank you very much for coming and helping us do this special meeting tonight. This is a grand opportunity, grand, grand opportunity to apply for this grant through MASC,” Jim Crosland, the town administrator said.
