MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile Symphony Orchestra will open its 2025-2026 season next month with 'Metamorphosis,' "a concert of classical favorites selected by the musicians themselves," a news release said.
The season will open on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m., with a repeat performance on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 2:30 p.m. at the Saenger Theatre in Mobile.
"This is a concert to delight music lovers of all kinds, and it certainly delights us," MSO Music Director Scott Speck said.
The concert will feature three German pieces, including Der Freischütz, an Overture to the Opera by Carl Maria von Weber, followed by a take on Weber's themes by Paul Hindemith in Symphonic Metamorphosis, and ending with Symphony No. 1 by Brahms.
The series will continue Nov. 8-9 with Bohemia, where the orches
