VINE GROVE, Ky. —
The Vine Grove Fire Department will not be rebuilding a station that was destroyed by a fire.
The department had three stations. The one that burned down last month was used mostly for storage.
The department lost thousands of dollars’ worth of spare equipment, including three trucks.
The community has stepped up, raising more than $10,000.
Vine Grove fire Chief Matthew Haddle said, “It just makes you appreciate what you do have. Everybody knows everybody here, and I love that. And even the day that the fire happened, we had multiple people stopping by here. What can we do? What? What do you need? What's your next step? OK. How can we help out? Which has been great.”
