STOCKTON, Calif. —
Dolores Huerta, a legendary civil rights activist and Stockton native, visited San Joaquin Delta College to inspire students and community members with her empowering words and advocacy.
Hundreds gathered in the auditorium on Thursday to hear Huerta speak, including Andrea Baltodano, a student at the college, who said, "She is just an icon here in Stockton as an immigrant rights activist. So as an immigrant myself, I think it's really good to see her come here, talk to us, and kind of like pass the torch or encourage us to keep her legacy alive, you know, and to keep fighting for the rights that, you know, are under attack right now."
Huerta spent the afternoon taking questions and offering empowering words, leaving students and teachers motivated.
