WASHINGTON — Longtime Washington Nationals broadcaster Bob Carpenter will be honored in a pregame ceremony at Nationals Park.
The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m., Saturday, where his name will be unveiled on the facade under the broadcast booth. Carpenter will be the first member of the media to have his name showcased at the ballpark.
Carpenter joined MASN as the Nationals' play-by-play broadcaster in 2006 after spending 10 years on television and radio with the St. Louis Cardinals. Carpenter has won multiple regional Emmy awards, named co-DC Sportscaster of the Year in 2014. During his broadcasting time with the Nationals, he has called three no-hitters, a 20-strikeout game, and countless home runs.
