DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) - The U.S. National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning alert for areas southeast of Gardnerville until 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25.

As of 8:30 p.m., roads in the Ruhenstroth area are back open, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.

At 5:49 p.m., flooding impacted East Valley Road and Pinenut Road, in addition to Pinenut Road and Sawmill Road.

At 5:01 p.m., flooding hit Buckskin Court and Pinto Circle, and Pinto Circle and Cayuse Drive.

“Please avoid the area,” the post said. “Stay safe out there!”

Also, remember to never cross flooded roads, streams or rivers, the post said. It just takes a few inches of water to sweep away a vehicle.
