(KIMT) -- All eyes are on the Atlantic Basin heading into next week as soon-to-be Tropical Storm Imelda could form.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is currently investigating an area of improved convection in the Caribbean. Over the next 48 hours, this cluster of thunderstorms will begin to organize into a potential tropical storm.

Current model guidance suggests that soon-to-be Imelda will track toward the Carolina Coast, potentially making landfall at some point Monday or Tuesday next week. Tropical Storm Humberto is forecast to remain a "fish storm", making no direct impact to the United States mainland.
