PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Buffalo Valley Road is closed off Interstate 40 in Putnam County Friday morning after a rollover crash involving a semi-truck.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes near Exit 269 around 2 a.m.

According to Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter, the semi left the roadway and rolled down an embankment. Crews used a rope to rescue the occupants of the truck, who only had minor injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Buffalo Valley is closed from Happy Hollow Road to the Buffalo Valley Post Office. The roadway is not expected to reopen until Friday afternoon.
