Superintendent Basnight delivers largely positive state assessment of Dare schools

In a presentation to the Dare County Board of Education at its Sept. 15 meeting, Dare County Schools Superintendent Steve Basnight told board members that, “There’s a lot of good information…on the state of our schools…and it’s pretty good.”

Basnight’s presentation was based on a North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) assessment of the 2024-25 school year that was released earlier this month.
