CHICAGO — A woman was seriously injured early Friday in West Pullman after a bullet went through her front window and struck her.

Officers responded to the 11800 block of South Lafayette just before 2:30 a.m. on the call of a person shot.

Police believe a 57-year-old woman was standing near her front-room window when it was struck by gunfire. She sustained a gunshot wound to the upper right thigh.

The woman was transported to Christ Hospital in serious condition.
