COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) -The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting people across the Midlands to join the fight to end the Alzheimer’s disease next Saturday.

The annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Oct. 4 at Segra Park, the organization said.

Gates to the event are set open at 9 a.m. The opening ceremony is slated for 9:45 a.m.

Participants will honor people who have been affected with Alzheimer’s with a Promise Garden ceremony on the day of the walk, according to a release.

During the event, people will carry brightly colored flowers. The flowers will represent each individual’s connection to the disease.

The walk is open to everyone.
