FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A Mexican national who was illegally living in the United States has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for his role in bringing fentanyl from Mexico to South Carolina, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Francisco Villa-Garcia, also known as Francisco Villa-Dominguez, Andres Busto, and Jesus Pineda Dominguez, 68, had a hand in bringing more than 8 kilograms of fentanyl into the state, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Evidence showed he came to the U.S. in or around 2022.
Prior to that, he was deported to Mexico in 2019 after serving 15 years in federal prison on a prior drug trafficking conviction in California, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Once in the United States, he ordered two shipments of what was supposed to be heroin but contained fe
